Magic Kingdom

On Wednesday, we went to Magic Kingdom. We rode a couple of things and sat to have a snack...

We had a FastPass to Space Mountain, so we had just enough time to ride the cars. Reed was an excellent driver...
We got on Space Mountain. I was a little worried about Hudson because of how jumpy he was at loud noises and he got a little scared when it was dark on the previous rides we had been on. So the whole time I'm worried about how he's doing (you sit single file in a bobsled type car, so I couldn't see or hear him. Gammy was right behind him, so I was hoping that was enough comfort.) Reed started off with the biggest smile. About 1/2 way through, I knew I was going to be sick. I even had my motion sickness patch behind my ear. but it did no good. WHen the ride ended, I turned around and looked at Reed and he looked as green as I felt. :) Neither of us threw up and Reed got over his nausea a lot quicker than I did. Hudson on the other hand was peachy. You never can tell how it will affect my kids. :) We went back to the hotel and Gammy and DadDad took the boys swimming while I went to bed. I ended up staying in bed most of the night because I felt so crummy.

We woke up Thursday morning and had Mickey waffles for breakfast.

I told the boys to show me their sad faces as we packed up to leave...
We had a great time and made lots of good memories.

Epcot

Tuesday we headed out to Epcot. We started off our day at the Nemo ride.

We rode the ride in the "ball" (Spaceship Earth I believe) and you fill out a little questionnaire about how you think your life will be in a few years. Then it takes your head and puts it on the bodies on the screen. For some reason, I thought it was hilarious. Reed is on the left and I'm on the right.
Brian had to leave on Tuesday afternoon to get back home for work, so it was the 5 of us left. We went back to Epcot that evening to watch Illuminations. Here are the boys in front of the crocodile from Peter Pan.
Next on our list... Magic Kingdom!

Hollywood Studios

On Monday, we were headed to Hollywood Studios. I had decided to have some matching shirts made for us (I knew Susan would love it), but I didn't want to wear them on a day it was raining. Monday was gorgeous, so I broke them out. I dressed the boys in their shirts and told them to take Gammy hers. You can't really tell in the picture, but she was excited.

We had just been to the Star Tours ride and headed over to the Buzz and Woody 3D ride.
We waited a while for the Buzz ride and got a lot of looks and comments on our shirts. :)

We had a few minutes before lunch, so we let the boys play in the "Honey I shrunk the Kids" playground.

Arrival and Animal Kingdom

On Saturday morning, we left for the airport. Reed has recently discovered the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and was enjoying some airport reading. :)

I'm glad we had extra time, because Brian got delayed in airport security for about 25 minutes. His computer bag was setting the sensor off for "bomb making materials". He carries his laptop in an old army medic bag he bought online. The TSA agent said it might be that it still has some kinds of residue on it from years ago. We finally got that cleared up and boarded the plane with no more issues. We arrived in Florida and headed to our hotel.
I loved how they made the Mickey head out of towels on our bed. :)

On Sunday, we woke up to rain and had a breakfast at a yummy buffett downstairs. Here we are pre-soak...
The ponchos came in very handy. If we wouldn't have had them, we would've been flat out miserable.

It was so good! A great show and well worth taking time to go - the boys loved it. We came back to the hotel to rest and then had a yummy dinner before getting ready for the next day of fun!

Happy Birthday to my baby!

My sweet baby boy is 4 years old today. It seems like yesterday that I held that chunky little 9 lb., 2 oz. baby in my arms. Time has flown by and Hudson has been a wonderful addition to our family.

Hudson, I love you so much and I am so glad that God gave you to me. Happy Birthday sweet boy!

What's happening?

Well, I evidently needed a break after my daily December posts. :) Now that I'm back, I can fill you in on what's been happening lately. Mostly day to day stuff... school, work, etc. The newest things that people may actually care about-

• Brian has had a career change. He closed the shop down at the end of last year. He loved having the experience of rebuilding cars, but it was beginning to take it's toll on him for lots of reasons. He decided that he needed to make a change, so he has decided to start building houses. He has built two so far and really enjoys doing it. I'll try to add some pictures in the next couple of days.
• Brian tuned 35 on January 21st. It's weird to think I have a 35 year old husband. Especially since I still feel like I'm 25. :)
• Hudson is turning four on Sunday. I can't believe my baby will be four. I thought time flew by with the first kid, but it has gone even faster with the second. He wants to have a swimming party, so we are going to celebrate with a big party on his half birthday in August.
• The boys have had strep 3 times this year. If anyone remembers our cycle from last year (between the two of them, they had it 7 times between January and April). Their pediatrician was convinced they were giving it to each other by something they were sharing. So I washed, bleached or threw away ANYTHING that they both had come in contact with. Hopefully we have put a stop to it...
• We had a tremendous rain last week. We got a little over 5 inches in about 36 hours. It was obvious that Brian had dug trenches were they need to be, because our tank filled up! Here's is the view from my kitchen window.

It was pretty awesome to see it full. It was quite foggy this morning when I got up, so I went out with my camera after I got back from taking Reed to school. The tank was so pretty - calm and a completely still surface. Just a few of the pictures I took.

I love living here. It's so peaceful and nice. I can't wait to get a bench by the water so I can go sit and enjoy it!
