Mr. Smarty Pants
Reed is a smart little kid. He loves to learn about things and wants to know why stuff works the way it does. He is very much like his daddy in that department. Janna Duty teaches music at Reed's school and she saw me at church last Wednesday and said "I have a story to tell you about Reed - he is very smart!" She told me that they were ringing the triangle (You know - the "Come and get it" triangle that they do for dinnertime on western movies) and the little boy that was ringing it was holding it on the triangle itself and not by the top, so it wasn't making the sound it should. She asked the class why and Reed raised his hand and I can't remember his exact words, but he said something to the effect of the triangle isn't vibrating which means the air around the triangle isn't moving, which is what makes the sound. Janna said in teaching music for 10 years, she said that no one, up through 5th grade, has ever known the answer that question. Wow. He definitely gets that from his daddy. :)

I'm so glad he's mine
This has been a rough week for me - there has been a lot going on and I have been a little beat down. I had totally forgotten about our "first date" anniversary today and when Brian came home with these flowers, I just dissolved into tears. Friday, February 5, 2010
Hudson's Birthday
Today was Hudson's 2nd birthday. I am having a combined birthday party for the boys this year at the first of April, so we had a very low key celebration. (And when I say low key, I mean grandparents, a roast, a cookie/brownie type dessert with a couple of candles stuck in it and no presents). He didn't understand why we were singing to him, but he blew the candles out all by himself. We had a fun little night to celebrate a great little guy. Hudson has been an absolute joy to this family. He is such a sweet little boy - I can't imagine our lives without him. He can drive me crazy and melt my heart - all inside of a couple of minutes. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

MUCH better!
This week has been so much better! On Friday I started on antibotics and by Saturday morning, I could tell I felt better. By Sunday, I was running at about 95%, so it's been great! Evryone has been well, so I haven't missed my work out classes this week. Yesterday I stayed with Cami to do one circuit of the Strength Training class that starts right after the Turbo Kick that we go to every Monday. After only a few minutes, I was wondering what I was thinking. As we walked out, I looked at the crazy girl and said "Seriously?" in which she answered "Oh, that was the hardest one she's ever done." I don't know if that made me feel better or more tired. :) My muscles are sore and it takes some real effort to walk normally and not make "Ow" noises. That's good, right? :)

This Week & Thankful Thursday
Monday: Reed wakes up at 5:00 puking. Is sick all day, so I end up having a long day of getting nothing done (you moms know what I mean). I try to keep Hudson away from him as much as possible, not to mention practically bathing in anti-bacterial gel just so I can stay well. Miss my work-out at the Y cause I'm home with Sicky McPukey.
- Not having a serious illness and knowing this will go away eventually
- My family that helps me out tremendously
- Being able to work out at least twice to stay with my routine somewhat
- A new day tomorrow :)

Thankful Thursday
This week I am thankful:
- for everyone feeling better. Hudson's snotty nose finally went away and Brian's allergy stuff is almost gone.
- that I'm feeling pretty good. I've worked out 3 days in a row this week and I think my body is finally catching up. I woke up feeling good this morning and actually felt like getting out of bed instead of burrowing deeper in the warm covers!!
- that my body is able (notice I didn't add 'willing'). In all seriousness, I can walk and run and do things for myself and I know I take that for granted a lot of the time by whining about working out, etc.
- that my to-do list isn't too long. I'm leaving for Vegas early Saturday morning and I don't a whole lot to do. I haven't started packing yet, but that may be a task within itself!
- that I have a sweet family to come home to. I will miss all three of my boys SO much, but I'm sure I will have a nice vacation and will be able to come home to them refreshed.

Thankful Thursday
Today I am thankful for:
- a comfortable, warm house
- a warm car to go pick up Reed from school
- plenty of food in the fridge, freezer and pantry
- being married to my best friend
- upcoming vacation! I'm really looking forward to a trip to Las Vegas in a little over a week! (Yes, I'm going with my parents, my brother and his fiance... my afore mentioned best friend isn't much of a traveler if you haven't yet heard. :) But, I gotta say, I won't mind being the fifth wheel at all.)
